Training Needs Study

Printing Industries has completed a project under Industry Infrastructure Growth Fund (IIGF) to investigate the training needs of the industry over the next decade, and beyond.
This project:
  • Captures directly the challenges facing Australian industry and maps the knowledge gaps as perceived by printers as inhibitors to business growth.
  • Reviews the current situation with respect to the availability of the appropriately skilled people to the industry.
  • Analyses the skills requirements for the industry now and 5 to 10 years out.
  • Determines the adequacy or otherwise, of the existing educational and training delivery infrastructure for the industry.
  • Scopes a set of educational and training model options to address the existing and developing gaps in this area.
  • Develops a best option selection criteria set and an open and inclusive stakeholders consultative process to select the optimum option.
  • Provides Printing Industries with an action plan for the implementation of the preferred option

Dept of Tourism and Res LogoFunding for the project was provided by the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources under the Infrastructure and Industry Growth Fund (IIGF) to investigate the training needs of the printing industry.
