Ron Patterson takes on new Printing Industries Role - 22/6/2006
Well known printing industry identity Ron Patterson has been appointed Printing Industries new General Manager Victoria and Tasmania and National Sales Manager.
Mr Patterson has been a Member of the past three PacPrint Boards & Chairman of PacPrint 2005, Foundation Chairman of Print Ex 1999, a Printing Industries Victorian Regional Councillor from 2001-2006 and a National Councillor 2002-2003. He has been extensively involved with the National Print Awards, Member of the Graphic Arts Merchants Association of Australia (GAMAA) since 1990 in various positions including Vice President and President.
Mr Patterson’s working career is printing industry based. He began his career as a letterpress / litho apprentice; moved from a printing role into technical roles in the 1970s then into sales, initially with Collie & Co and later FT Wimble & Co Ltd.
After spending 11 years with Agfa-Gavaert in national sales manager & General Manager roles Mr Patterson joined the CPI Group as National Sales Manager & then State Manager - Victoria-Tasmania. In 2002 he joined Anitech as State Manager. He will join Printing Industries in July on completion of existing work commitments with AE Hudson Pty Ltd.
Printing Industries CEO, Philip Andersen, said Mr Patterson’s extensive sales background, industry knowledge and experience would be beneficial to the association at both local Victorian and national levels.
“Ron has spent his working life in the printing industry and has a unique understanding of the traditional print trade, technology and the supply perspective,” he said.
“His involvement with industry activities is outstanding and we look forward to his new role continuing to benefit the industry,” Mr Andersen said.
