The Future of Print – a 20//20 Vision - 16/6/2009 A vision into the future of print and its development in the next 10 years is the focus of a special dinner presentation in Sydney next month. Print 20//20 – a Vision for the Future will provide an overview of printing industry trends and the new business opportunities that can help transform traditional print businesses into profitable print based communication solutions providers.
The event is based on the very successful Pinnacles of Print event held in Western Australia earlier this year which attracted enormous interest and discussion.
The same keynote speaker, Andy McCourt, will feature at the Sydney event which is being organised by Printing Industries. Mr McCourt’s 30-year career in the graphic arts has led to him being recognised as one of the industry’s leading commentators and researchers.
He has presented at Australian and international conferences. Mr McCourt has been involved in the genesis of digital colour printing from the early 1990s and is a regular contributor to PRINT21 magazine.
Printing Industries National Communication and Technical Services Manager, Joe Kowalewski, said that it was important for industry companies to focus equally on both the technological and management aspects of their businesses since both could be profit drivers.
“There are very few people like Andy with the local knowledge and experience able to pull these aspects together into a coherent and comprehensive presentation that will bring knowledge value to everyone that attends,” he said.
“He will examine the state of the local, national and international print markets, projections to 2012 by PIRA (Printing Industry Research Association), and explain the technologies that can benefit printers planning for their futures including the integration of Web-to-Print capability, how printers can use websites in direct marketing for their tradition al print clients and how to take advantage in the growth in all forms of direct digital output.”
The presentation will include:
