NAB Campaign Progressing - 24/3/2006

Printing Industries tender process campaign against the NAB is gaining momentum.

Philip Andersen, CEO of Printing Industries, has met with a NSW Liberal Party hierarchy member to brief him on the NAB print tender and the industry's objections to it and will be meeting with NAB shortly..

"I briefed Malcolm Kerr on the issue, and he shares our concerns that a major corporation would put such a mandate in a tender," Mr Anderson said.

"Mr Kerr assured me that he would explore whatever political pressure it may be possible for him to exert on the bank, so that progress can be made on the issue."

Mr Andersen will be meeting with NAB Managing Director and CEO, John Stewart.
late in April to lobby strongly against the tender processes that includes a mandatory overseas supply component.

He said he was overwhelmed by the industry's passion for this issue, saying: "I would like to thank everyone for all  the emails we have received over the past months. We will be informing members on the progress of this campaign.

"The Association will working very closely with a number of industry bodies over the coming months."
