Positive industry feedback on workshops - 12/6/2009 Printing Industries national program of workshops organised to help the printing and associated industries more effectively manage the current global economic downturn have received widespread industry endorsement. Feedback from workshop participants to date has been overwhelmingly positive with many indicating that the workshop outcomes have exceeded their expectations. Workshops have already been held in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane. Further workshops are scheduled for Adelaide on Wednesday 17 June; Perth on Thursday 18 June and Hobart on Tuesday 23 June. Commenting on the Sydney workshop held on Thursday 11 June at Fuji Xerox Australia's Epicenter, Printing Industries National Manager for Policy and Government Affairs Hagop Tchamkertenian said he was pleased with the outcomes of the workshop. "Having had a chat with workshop attendees both during the main break and the conclusion of the workshop reinforced the positive feedback we have so far been getting on the workshops as reflected by the workshop evaluation forms," he said. The workshops are being presented by respected accounting and business consultant firm HLB Mann Judd who have a long association with the printing industry. The banking perspective associated with the current economic environment is being presented by BankWest. Mr Tchamkertenian said the workshop participants are being provided with helpful and practical guides to manage the current economic environment. "We have developed a series of Business Guides that deal with various issues faced by a modern printing business ranging from risk management to effective management of cashflow and making the most of emerging business opportunities. "From a printing business perspective the workshops offer an opportunity to engage in certain sound business practices that increase overall business viability". "If workshop participants take away just a single idea and successfully implement it in their businesses than the goals and objectives of the workshops would have been met. Based on industry feedback to date I am hopeful that not single but multiple business ideas will be taken back and implemented" he concluded. Printing Industries national workshops have received funding from the Federal Government's Enterprise Connect initiative. |
