Two of the newest industry software titles released recently, Microsoft Office for Mac and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4, are already available at special member discounts through Printing Industries.

Printing Industries National Communication and Technical Services Manager Joe Kowalewski said the Association was very pleased to be able to offer the long awaited releases to members at prices under the recommended retail.

"Software is an integral part of our members' business costs and it's therefore very important that we help minimise these costs wherever possible. This promotion is a good example of one way we are doing that," he said.

"Since our launch of Adobe CS3 at PrintEx07 we have been able to provide substantial software purchase savings to many members, in some cases equating to their association membership fee."

Both titles include an extensive range of new features and functionability over previous versions, Microsoft Office for Mac uses the new SmartArt Graphics engine which creates a new level of usability from the suite.

For companies that use both PC and Mac computers Remote Desktop Connection allows connectivity between both allowing the Mac to work with programs on the PC. Advanced features include changing application preferences, copy files between Mac and PC and print from PC programs to any printers connected to a Mac.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4  features include live text formatting, interactive tables, enhanced integration for Windows Vista, file support with a number of Adobe products and new design templates. A welcome update includes bitmap-to-vector tracing applications, 10,000 high-quality clip art images and two hours of direct to DVD training which includes all the new features.

Both products are certified for use by the new Windows Vista and Mac OSXv10.5 Leopard operating systems.
